This is one of those sculptures where even if do not know anything about art, you will be able to tell copies from the original.
- Alex Iskold on January 24, 2010 at 1:32pmAlex Iskold favorited and commented on Holy Blood, Holy Grail on amazon.com
Mind blowing read. A historical chase through secret societies, bible all the way back to Jesus uncovering a series of shocking revelations.
Greatly researched and highly readable. Even if 10% of stuff in this book is true, you won't think about Christianity in the same way again.
The illustrated edition comes with pictures of paintings, maps, landscapes and is well worth the price. - Alex Iskold on October 23, 2009 at 10:30amAlex Iskold favorited and commented on Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid on amazon.com
Music, art, computation - all blends in the wonderful world of Hofstadter.

I love the source code. I have a saying, which applies to both engineering and business: Show me the source code. It applies to people too. Unless you can prove you can make the source code, int ain't real.
- Alex Iskold on February 3, 2010 at 11:49pmAlex Iskold liked and commented on The Message of the Sphinx: A Quest for the Hidden Legacy of... on amazon.com
Just finished reading this book - it is seriously awesome.
Fun, intelligent and profound investigation into one of the world's greatest mysteries - the Pyramids of Giza.
Authors use mythology, astronomy and first class detective work to unveil the connection between the stars in the Orion galaxy and the layout of the valley of kings.
They proceed to draw further connections with a much more ancient secret, which if true, could change the way we view our true origins. - Alex Iskold on January 10, 2010 at 2:33pmAlex Iskold liked and commented on Age of the Understatement on amazon.com
