Green Day is one of the best bands of all time for me. I've been a big fan of theirs since I was in middle school and first heard a song off of Warning on MTV. Ever since then I have grown up listening to their music.

For me it is more then just listening to good music. The messages behind their songs from the last couple albums have been ones that resonate with my opinions of things going on around me.

They are a band you also need to see live. Last year (2009) I saw them in concert and it was amazing. Not only was it a lot of fun (with toilet paper guns, water guns, bringing random people on stage to perform with them; including one kid who was fantastic on bass) but you could really feel just how much passion was behind the lyrics. Hearing everyone around me sing along with Billie Joe through was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a concert and I came away from the show feeling that it was well worth the price of admission. There will never be another band like them.

This is the first Green Day album I listened to growing up and one of the first CDs I ever bought. This is really the last album before their songs went the route of social and political tangents.
