It's little statements like that that remind you that the narrative you're enjoying is from a dog's point of view. After making it through Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian", I was planning on some lighter reading. As far as lighter fare, I've failed miserably.

Is it an easy read? Yes, most definitely. I was done within 2 days of starting and if work and day-to-day activities hadn't gotten in the way, it would have been done in a matter of hours. Is it a "light" read? Not if you're paying attention to the details that Enzo has thrown your way regarding his owner and best friend "Denny", an amateur race car driver who suffers some serious tragedies in his life away from the track.

This book was a most pleasant surprise and will stick with me for quite some time. I highly recommend this one for something new. Don't say I didn't warn you that i...

Just finished my book on my kindle, it was really good. I wasn't ready for it to be over yet. Made me cry at the end.

The race is long. It is better to drive within oneself and finish the race behind the others than it is to drive too hard and crash.

Quick read - oddly touching though considering it is written from a dog's perspective.
