I think I need to re-read the series again to decide what I think of it. It was definitely heavy-handed in making the 616 Nick Fury an African-American, but I fail to see why this was so necessary.

Lonnie @cburnham According to Tom Brevoort, they want to make the comics more like the movies...because, really, don't we all want comics based on movies based on comics? (Also, I don't think Marvel gives a poop about creating even semi-original non-white characters.)
