I bought Leviathan for my daughter and after finishing it before her, promptly bought this one to continue the adventure.

Finished this one. It's all I can do not to start in on Goliath immediately instead of going to bed, which I SHOULD do.

I love how Westerfeld finishes this series' books with a review of how his story differs from the actual history of WWI. good stuff.

This would make a great movie - wouldn't that be cool to see?

listened to leviathan on audiobook, reading this one hard copy. can't tell which i prefer! either way it's a great book so far.

Goliath, the last in the series, is out! Re-reading this one before I get it.

Listening to this one on audio, Alan Cumming is a fantastic reader, his American voice is funny! :D

My daughter and I are in the middle of this right now. The characterizations are really, really well done. The author really makes you care about the people in this book. The other thing I loved about the last book was that at the end he took the trouble to tell the reader what was true and what was not. He had obviously based this book on a real event, the murder of the Archduke and his wife that was the catalyst for WWI... he then took the trouble to detail out what then was real and what wasn't. I loved that my daughter and I both got a mini history lesson. (I had already went online and looked up a bit on the Archduke because the author had made me very interested in the time period.) Even many of the fantastic beasts are impossible for that time period the author makes it somehow believable... it truly is a wonderful book. Well worth reading.

An engaging blend of HIstory and Steam FIction. Westerfeld creates a world both beyond imagination and characters that we in the here and now can understand and relate to.

Amazing read. Can't wait for Goliath!
