Just finished it. It was awful. I don't like to read the date of publish or little details like that because it could cause me to become biased and unable to let the the story weave itself. I remarked that I found myself thing of Monty python, not for fun purposes, but basing my image on the scenes given. It was written in 71. Awful book. Like Forrest Gump and sling blade had a brother. :(

Maybe it's coz the dude on the cover! Chance should be handsome and under 40. This guy looks like he stepped out of Monty Python's Flying Circus with a bowler hat. It's thrown me off!

For my class. I don't know how I feel about it. Is chance mentally impaired? It implied he and his mother were. Or was he just shut in with no worldly influence to teach him? It's just kinda "meh".

Chance has to be one of the best character ever written.
