That's the bad part about reading an excellent series as it comes out - the wait for the next installment! I was sort of skeptical in the beginning, but I was won over by the writing and characterization. It just took a while for the rules of the world became apparent, and the reader was left flailing in the dark for no reason since the story wasn't told from the perspective of the protagonists.

Since I'm on a #BrentWeeks kick right now when I finish Beyond The Shadows, I'm going to reread this one too. :-)

I was really hoping for a sex scene with Gavin & Liv, but none yet.

Attempting some level of intellectual past time, will probably actually end up falling asleep :P

I'm new to this fantasy series, but so far it's been very good. Brent Weeks does a wonderful job of immersing the reader in the world he's created. Thank you VBPL!

Loved The Way of the Shadow series hope this is just as good.

A book of magic and war. I have almost finished reading this book and haven't been able to put down for more than an hour. It's one of those, "I can't wait to see what happens next", type of books.

Pretty good book, thanks to my sister for getting me into Brent Weeks.
