This man is an amazing author. This is my third attempt at this book after having read The Border Trilogy and No Country For Old Men. This one demands my full attention (as they all do) and I haven't been able to give it yet. Third time's the charm right?

Still puzzled as to why this is supposed to be so good. Awesome writing, terrible story. Violent to the point where it is cartoonishly funny. It is Saw 4 with breathtaking cinematography.

Still trying to determine why it got so many accolades. It is beautifully written, but the story is mediocre thusfar. Definitely not "The Road"

Good story. Not much yet in terms of character development. Violent, but since you are not attached to the characters, it's not very impactful violence.

While this is considered his magnum opus, every work of CM is memorably excellent.

I read this @ my hammock on the living room with a cold wind in my face.

CM's magnum opus...a hard read because of the unmitigated violence. Clearly he is the greatest American novelist of our age.
