Got caught up in the events (Che executes a traitor, an attempt on Batista's life by a rival group, asthma, new recruits) & read chapter 15, as well...

Finished 14 & began 15. Interesting this evolution Guevara has gone through, calling himself a "bloodthirsty rebel". I am quite unsure that I would never be "bloodthirsty". Interesting, anyway...

Finishing chapter 14 before I get in bed. It's taken me too long getting back to this book. I need to figure out a better strategy for working in my personal reading time during the day (or night).

Began chapter 8, "Finding North". Anderson, I've decided, enjoys making the reader suffer through a range of emotions during the course of a reading. I had such a swelling of compassion for Ernesto during the last paragraph of the 1st part of ch. 8 that it was painfully abrupt when it ended. Would love to throttle him for that.

Just finished chapter 7. Love that Ernesto complains to his mother about Alberto's absence from this trip because he didn't mind getting dirty lol

Grief, that young man was such a rascal! He absolutely delighted in horrifying people lol. Read about his very first solo motor bike adventure. Will continue the chapter tomorrow :)

Just finished chapter 3 which speaks of his early sexual exploits & love for poetry. Also his family home, which sounds very much like the home I wish I had (except for the detached relationship his parents had lol)- fascinating individuals wandered those halls!

When I watched "The Motorcycle Diaries" I couldn't help but wonder why Alberto called Ernesto "Fuser". Now I know why- so interesting! Doesn't really fit him as he was portrayed in the film...

Just finished reading chapter 2, "The Dry Climate of Alta Gracia". An interesting part describing little Ernesto playing "Paraguayans Vs. Bolivians" made me picture an odd "Cowboys & Indians" game. Despite his asthmatic condition, which kept him from attending school for his first 9 years, he seemed to be quite the trouble maker & dare devil :)
