Anyone else annoyed with how this ended? I just can't believe the Star Wars turn it took..

Trying it out only because I really want to read the fourth book and I was told I needed to read it in order. :-). Hopefully I like it.

Was intrigued with the city of souls. Then i found out that that's the 5th book so i decided to read books 1-4 1st. :)
