Finished this last night. If you like 'Pride and Prejudice', you will like this. PD James does a great job with the characters, the language and the settings. The mystery in the book is actually almost a sideline to the focus on the characters daily lives and proprieties.

Slow reread to appreciate Austen imitation. Amusé.

Checked Good Reads- people either really like this book or really hate it .Half way through I am luke warm

Hard to get into, you have to love Jane Austen to be into this one

I can fully believe this to be the continuation of one of my favorite stories

I very much enjoyed this book. Especially once I realized that it wasn't really a murder mystery so much as a Jane Austen novel in which a murder occurs.

Miss Austen would have been greatly pleased with the turn of the lives of her many characters unde Ms. James' pen. This story was wonderfully told. I loved every minute if it.

I'm really torn about this book. One of my favorite mystery writers meets one of my favorite stories; it's gotta be good, right? And it is good. But it's not great, and I was hoping for great.

My all time favorite mystery writer using characters from my all time favorite classic. It doesn't get any better than this for a book geek like me. SO happy!

Not quite as good as I'd hoped, but then what could be? Far superior to any other attempted sequels or derivatives I've read, though with its pedigree that's hardly surprising.

I've loved Lizzie and Darcy for so many years and thought I would never want to spend time with them through anyone else's words other than Jane Austen's. I've not read P.D. James before, but after reading several favorable reviews AND a Kindle sample I very much wanted to give this book a go. I've made it to Part II and am eager to proceed. That's a good sign, right?

Jane Austen+murder! I don't love it the way I wanted to, but I'll give it a couple more chapters.

First book of the year would have a #PrideandPrejudice connection. This book is getting excellent reviews.
