Finally found some time to read again.

Reached book three.

Reading and traveling with the train is a perfect combination.

Amazing, classic sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert - one of my favourite books of all time. The noble house Atreides are granted control of the desert planet Arrakis, the only world in the known universe where can be found the spice, Melange - a truthsayer drug valued above all other commodities. The fantastic setting compliments the complex underpinnings of religion and politics, all of which revolves around the coming of age of the duke's son Paul Atreides, who may or may not be the the messiah of Dune's desert-living Fremen.

Having a hard time getting into this. Plowing thorough to hopefully have something happen.

Another two hours to loose myself in this story.

It has been a while but i am glad that i can pick it up again.

First time through it. Finally getting the motivation to read a little.

Dune was the first proper sci fi novel I read - way back in the mid 80s when the David Lynch adaptation came out. Am now re-reading it for the first time and it is still starting out real well :)

I'm committed to finish these books but OMG its killing me

Just finished! Hadn't read it since high school.

This is the first book in a while that has me thinking about it when I'm not reading it, all of the time.

2 hours train travel, plenty of time to make some serious progress.

I am listening to the version from Audible and there is a cast reading the original story lead by Simon Vance. Great telling!

Dune was an awesome book. i had to finish it in a day.

THe back cover says:"a magnificent story which earned both sf prices, the Hugo award and the nebula award." translated from Dutch. Well I hope I like it as much as many others does.

for me only the first three books count,as herberts son wrote the rest after he died.

Of course I was trying to say that I was 'trying' instead of teying ... ;)
