FanOne of Einstein's greatest fears was of those that would use fear to trample civil liberties. Hmm. That sounds familiar.

FanI cant imagine Einstein as Israel's 1st President, and, apparently neither could he, which is why he declined the offer

Jana Wise Another interesting tidbit -
Michael Busby Not only a history of Einstein but also of the early to mid 20th c. Albert seemed to be very socially progressive. He also may have influenced the 60s civil rights movement

Not only did Albert have a complicated love life, but getting his Nobel Prize was no walk in the park, either. Anti-semitism was epidemic in Europe, really.

Michael Busby And, his wife, Else, dealt with his philandering. I had no idea. I'm not sure what the term, "affair," meant in his day and age. His life in Berlin, post-Nobel Prize, was one woman after another. They would arrive and visit. A.E. would take them to the opera, or on walks, or for tea. I'm not sure physical lines were crossed, but certainly emotional lines were. -
Jana Wise You keep feeding me little gems like this and I'll have to add the book to my wish list. -
Michael Busby @DelightfulDame its really engrossing; im 400 pgs in and have a difficult time walking away from it. If you like science and investigating motivating forces behind people and ideas, this is a good book. Written by the same author who wrote Jobs bio, which I finished prior

I had no idea Einstein was such a victim to his emotions and women and love. His passions were apparently theoretical physicists, women, and music-in that order.

Carolyn Hanson Mayer His love-life surprised me. I had assumed he was too much of a nerd for that.
