Reading this for my English 298 class. I like it so far.

Read straight through to the end - transfixed!

Decided to finish this enjoyable little book this morning. Fun read!

The last chapter has literary references that in lesser hands would overwhelm me. Here, they make perfect sense. #comics

It's astounding how this narrative is woven together. Memories, images, words, stories: almost impossible. #comics

Chapter 5: Sweet JEBUS this book is great. I can't believe I didn't realize it before. #comics

I can't believe how deftly Bechdel dances around the timelines in this book. #comics

So far, this book is MUCH better upon re-read. And I liked it a lot the first time. #comics

It's a quick read, but that doesn't mean it is an easy read. It is a graphic novel about a family. Primarily it is about a daughter who ultimately comes out as a lesbian and her repressed gay father who is of a different time and place that doesn't allow the same freedom. Their relationship is aligned with the literature they both live to read including the works of James Joyce. This family is so interesting as they are so ordinary. Another good summer read for me!

I finally spent some time reading part of this after having it for years. Very interesting and entertaining.
