It was a good book all in all but I feel like the book got kind of scattered and haphazard towards the end, especially in the epilogue. There are lots of things to be learned from this book, namely the author's cultural observations. As reflected by some readers's responses, his accounts only represent an American's perspective on a particular culture. You might very well get a different impression should you visit these places. I believe though that the author make fair judgments based on the things that he experienced and witnessed. An interesting twist on regular travel-writing!
