              ..Don't let the title mislead you! The book discusses hacking in context of business/workflow processes and not in literal sense. Creating workrounds/shortcuts/hacks to be more efficient whilst disregarding traditional/acceptable corporate methods (and when to deem acceptable to "Break rules") is labeled, by the author, as benevolent hacking. The author urges to hack/circumvent corporate processes to fit their needs (bottom up approach) and oppose established corporate processes (top down control). IMHO, I disagree with the author's call to arms. Too much change to fast from bottom up approach can lead to overspecialization or instability (sure it may seem seem superproductive at first, but when the climate changes, can it re-adapt fast enough??). On the other hand, an inflexible organization (top Down) is sure to die as it can't adapt to a new climate.
