Saw the movie loved it next read the book

Was lent this book (on tape) quite awhile ago. Went on a long road trip and really enjoyed having these ladies to travel with me. Quite enjoyed this book, I laughed, I sighed and I smiled.

Sitting in the sun reading this book, got so in to it that now i almost look like a beet :-P

Finished this a few days ago, beautiful book with really layered, sympathetic heroines and an important social/historical theme. Is the movie worth watching or did they ruin the book?
