I'm about halfway through and I'm just not feeling this one so much. I've tried not to read what others have written, but it seems that the general consensus is that this book is not as good as the rest of the series. I hope they're wrong.

I am in the middle of reading this book and yes it is the actual book b/c I love the smell and feel of actually holding a book. I have the whole series beginning w/"The Clan of the Cave Bear" written by Jean M. Auel. My husband got me a Kindle for my birthday which I am starting to love. I didn't know if I would like b/c I like the feel and smell of books but as my husband says the less space needed w/the Kindle. I am a collector of several authors such as V. C. Andrews, L. J. Smith, P. C. Cast & Kristen Cast, Stephanie Meyer, John Saul, some of Steven King's books, some autobiography books based on the Holocaust, Anne Rice to name just a few. LOL. So, "yes" they collect space b/c I like to display them. So, now I will obtain my books via my Kindle. ~*<3~*<3~*

Done. I'm a little disappointed with this one. Too repetitive.

Book 6 of the Series. I do hope a Book 7 comes out eventually!

Just couldn't get into it. It sounded too much like a soap opera instead of the amazing historical fiction I had come to expect from Auel.

Haven't read this series in awhile & this is the last one. It's pretty good!

I don't know if she had a contract to fulfill or what, but this wasn't her best effort. But, in the end, because it's part of a very well-known series and has her name on it, it will get bought, read and make her lots of money.

Almost through. I'd like to say I've thoroughly enjoyed it, but I'd be lying. Too much repetition, too much re-telling of what happened before this novel. Would it have killed her to use a prologue? On the plus side, I could probably skin an animal through the descriptions I've read.

Just got this yesterday, I've read the rest of the series. I just wish Jean Auel wouldn't go so long between books as I'm having to try to remember what happened in the last book.

Just finished! What a superb end to the Earth's Children series. However, would love another book!

Goddamned Marona and Jondalar, my heart is breaking for Ayla. I would feed Marona some hemlock and be done with it, and leave Jondalar

almost 6 months to the day since I began reading, I have finally finished the sixth book of Jean Auel's Earth's Children series, The Land of Painted Caves... at first disappointed but now feeling complete

Mission accomplished. I've finished the book! The last 200 pages was totally worth it! Those where like the old books!

Would love to have finished this before the weekend when mum needy the book back!

Slowly slogging through it.

Chapter 18.. All the sudden 4 years have passed.. Fast forward.. Yes, might be needed..

Oh no! There has been an earthquake and a boy in the fifth cave as Bernard lethally injured! Ayla can't do anything!

I've realised that I won't be able to finish it before my mum needs it back..

I'm not do sure I like the description of him sucking her milk filled breasts..

Finally got my hands on a copy! This is the reason why my daughter is named Ayla! Lol

I've been waiting YEARS for this book!

I've been saying "One more chapter" for five chapters and 100+ pages.

Hmm skeptical. Last in series. Took her 31 years to write 6 books. Started reading them in highschool. Has terrible reviews. Have a feeling it will be a disappointing end.

Need to get some reading in after playing video games all day...

It's a tough slog but I've gotta see how this ends.
