Not the pageturner I was expecting it to be but it's still a good read.

This feels like reading Jonathan Strange + Mr Norrell. To me, at least. Yes, that was a compliment.

It's a cross between Prince Caspian (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) & Alice and Through the Looking Glass...so far it's not that bad. Julia's story is by far the most interesting to read. (but they all still sound like a bunch of spoiled [rich] kids who have incredible talent in being able to focus on learning new skills & be obsessive compulsive about the things they're learning about....yah, they're only extraordinary in that they're a bunch of Hermione Granger wannabes who think running away from reality is the best adventure of all....dumb butts)

So far it's starting out like Alice in Wonderland.....

Finished this last night. Having very mixed feelings about it...I was not really happy with the ending at all. Good thing I like being not really happy.

I had this book for months before I could make myself read it because I felt ambivalent about the first novel. But I ended up prefering this sequel.

So excited to finally start reading this... I LOVED The Magicians. :)

I hate the Fillory parts, but the Julia backstory is great.

Julia is my favorite character.
