Reading chapter 3 and am absolutely hating it; in my opinion, describing (in incredibly vivid detail, mind you) what Hell is like does very little (if not nothing) to move the story forward and is wildly unnecessary. If I didn't feel a need to say, with truth, that I have read this novel in its entirety, I wouldn't hesitate to skip this chapter.

Finished! I'm glad I read Ulysses first, because I think Stephen is an even more interesting character knowing where he ends up.

After two years of carrying the book around......
