Probably the most unique book I've ever read. If you can get past the fact that it is written in a way that a five year old would speak and think, you will really enjoy "Room."

i'm torn about this book. i greatly anticipated it and found the subject matter to be long overdue in a fictionalized account, and found the first two-thirds to be fairly good and occasionally very good. the last few chapters, however, degraded into trite, awful writing full of ridiculous cheap sentiment - i was so disappointed that i haven't recommended this to anyone. i'll try to read it again in a few months to see if my opinion changes.

Just finished it. I was most intrigued by the author's decision to tell the story from the child's perspective. This boy is amazing.
