Still working on Chapter 5, "A City Visible but Unseen." This is the first portion I have found to be slowly paced. Hopefully 305 to 356 will move a little faster than pages 243 to 305 did.

Finished Chapter 3 "Ellowen Deeowen" and Chapter 4 "Ayesha." I'm truly loving this book. I may even, dare I say it, like it better than Midnight's Children!

Saladin renounces India as his mom, and he sprouts goat-like horns from his temples (like images of devils and demons). Do I sense Nationalism? I think I do!

Eureka! I think I have found my next read. This has been an arduous process, but the first 15 pages have been delightfully entertaining and confusing at the same time. I think I'll enjoy this enigma.

Are you the kind that compromises, does deals, accomodates itself to society, aims to find a niche, to survive; or are you the cussed, bloody-minded, ramrod-backed type of damnfool notion that would rather break than sway with the breeze? – The kind that will almost certainly, ninety-nine times out of hundred, be smashed to bits; but, the hundredth time, will change the world”

Pretty remarkable so far. Yet to work out why it caused such a fuss though..

David Clarke A group of Muslims found his novel to be sacrilegious due to his handling/retelling of stories from the Quran. I'm only 64 pages in, but I'm thinking I may not be well enough versed in the teaching of Islam to be able to spot the "offensive" passages.

Este libro es la cosa más extraña que leí esta semana. Me falta un poco para acabar de leerlo. Pero lo recomiendo sin saber el final.
