The author passed away at the age of 50...I still have a ways to go to finish reading this book.

Finally finished this after several months of on and off reading. Loved the literary stuff. Every character loves poetry which is awesome. Liked it more than By Night in Chile and less than 2666. Overall one solid read once you commit to it. I tried to read this 3 other times without luck but finally did it. I've got to give it to Bolano. His work won't let you just give it up or forget about it.

El incomod momento en el que te das cuenta que el autor se cruso la linea entre "narracion coral" y "Mini cuentos ligeramente ligados". Hay escritores, por que quieren cubrir cuetoas de paginas?? si la historia se cuenta en X paginas dejenlo así, no alarguen la trama, solo rompe el ritmo y las pelotas... aunque igual hay gente a la que le gusta leer historias de un personaje que no tiene nada que ver con la historia...

Pues comensando a leer el primer libro que no es de divulgacion cientifica o de fantasia de este año. :D

The middle section of TSDs is like an extended version of that in that it's sort of a long account of Belano and Lima's lives over the course of decades. It's getting very good

Loved the other bolano I've read but I've had trouble sticking with this one. Like this one too, not as much as 2666 or the skating rink, but this is the third time I've gotten 200 pages in and still not finished it. Maybe this will be the time but I sort of doubt it. It's super literary like by night in chile which makes me go off and do a lot of research. Unlike by night in chile this one is very long
