Sue Monk Kid often writes book w/ a theological basis, this one is further from the church than some of her other books, and is by far my very favorite! I read this years ago and couldn't wait for the movie (which actually did the book justice). A quick "beach" read about finding a family - even if it's not your own - and finding acceptance. Set in the south the author makes the characters colorful and fun to read
