This wasn't as good as @Neilhimself's other stuff. Didn't mention Alvin's pop career, or his time as the green cross code man.

I love how much more detail is in this book than the movie, though I still feel the movie does and excellent job portraying the story! I love them both. ^_^

I liked the movie, but then I read the book and I was all like "facepalm", why did they make captain a gay??

Sarah Jade Loffhagen Because Rober De Niro can do anything, and Neil Gaiman was very involved in the making and when the idea was presented he found it amusing and ran with it. ^_^

Sarah Jade Loffhagen Neil Gaiman also mentioned in an interview that the book was much more complicated than the screenplay, but he was happy that it would still be his magical story played in a manner which could easily be understood by all, without needing so much of a backstory to get to the main line of plot. ^_^

Honestly? Biggest disappointment ever! I saw the movie first, was told the book was AMAZING.. The book is vague, almost empty with character building and connections! It is boring, and flat. Who ever adapted this flat/lifeless story into a movie was a genius! He / she saw the potential in the story and made it better. The movie.. a MILLION times better than the book. Just saying! But alas, I must finish the last 30 pages...

A gorgeous little story that flies along at break-neck speed; Gaiman is, quite simply, a sublimely gifted teller of tales. <3
