Holy cow, that was a good book. Now what am I going to do with my life?

Forgot how wonderfully Ann Patchett writes. First few pages and I'm hooked.

I typically don't like female authors, too touchy-feely; but, I really liked her writing style. I'm looking for more from this author.

Just finished this excellent novel by Ann Patchett, the author of Bel Canto. This one is set in the Amazon in Brazil and is typically quirky and marvelously well written.

Look at the stars... Beyond the spectrum of darkness she saw the bright stars scattered across the table of the night sky and felt as if she had never seen such things as stars before. She did not know enough numbers to count them and even if she did, the stars could not be separated one from the other. The whole was so much greater than the sum of it's parts.... Sigh (me sighing)

No longer forcing myself to read - it's getting good!

I finished this book 4 days ago and still find myself wondering what certain characters are doing now (like they are real people or something!) Anyway, such a good book.

Loving the language Ann Patchett uses like "Naivete may be the bedrock of reproduction, the lynchpin for the survival of the species." pg. 53

Finished State of Wonder yesterday ... beautiful ending. it's very rare that I am completely satisfied and literally left smiling on the last page. Wonderful book!

Very intense first 20 pages, amazingly descriptive book. Think it's going to be quite a ride. #Fridayreads

ahh!! pages 238 - 243!!!! terrifying....

about halfway through...making me wish I could pick up everything and take an extended trip to another country!

three or four chapters in, and I'm diggin' it so far! it's slow...but I appreciate the detail.

this book is boring after reading the hunger games series. just refusing to give up on it!!!

Almost done! Put this down while I read "A Stolen Life" but picked it back up when I was done...so glad I did, it's really good!
