Fascinating. Just started it today and am only a little way in, but I am quite transfixed. Forensic science is—for all the uncomfortable associations attached to the study of corpses—endlessly interesting to me (though not in any morbid or uncouth way). And the history of the study of the dead, wrapped in opprobrium and draped over with a frightful, bloody sheet of revulsion, is no less intriguing than, say, the history of cancer [see: The Emperor of All Maladies].

I loved transcribing autopsy reports, so I thought this would be an interesting read. Anything medical peaks my interest...even if the patients are dead.
