Once again, this book just goes to show that the best wisdom is often found in science fiction. Valentine Michael Smith has a lot to teach humanity, and not just the planet Earth that appears in Heinlein's masterpiece here. From the lofty idea of water-brothers to the practical suggestions on how to have the perfect kiss, there are so many reasons to read this novel. It is my belief that it should be required reading in high schools the world over, and - I truly believe this - if more people took this book to heart, the world could be a more peaceful and loving place because of it. Do you grok?

Re-read it after 15 years. I still don't see how this book seems to have started the "New Age" movement!?! It is pretty decent as radical books go.

If you are ever curious of where scientology came from then here is where it came from. If I was this author I would be pretty proud of myself to create a religion out of fiction. It's an oldie but a goodie though

One of my all time favs, I've read it several times over. I think it's time to read it again in fact :)

A must read. For any sci-fi geek.

I have read Both Books and still have them! Probably the Greatest Sci-Fi(SyFy?) Novel about a Philosophy of living and Life! The First Book was like a Bible that guided My Life since it first was published! Today I still feel it would be the best type of Society that could exist! I still live my life with Principles of the Book!

this is the book that helped to change Sci Fi, helped to get Sci Fi to be speculative fiction and be in the mainstream.

Hands down, one of the best Sci-Fi books ever written. Should be required reading for all high school students. Highly recommended.

This book reminded me a little of how first felt when I moved to Beijing. Also, I'm driven to make my communications with people easy to grok.

Read this book when I was a teenager. drastically changed my beliefs and values. wonderful science fiction book which isn't a science fiction book at all...
