I'm only 18 pages in and I really love this book.

Deborah Johnson Ohlms I thought of cowardice and bravery and heroism differently after reading this. Myself, my son, his friends and my friends and co-workers were STILL discussing this book 9 months later. -
Jasmine @carbonkitten it's gotten me to think about those same themes in a different light as well. And as metafiction, it's also gotten me to think differently about how I approach writing or telling a story. It is an insane eye-opener and it deserved all the awards it got. -
Deborah Johnson Ohlms I was affected by this book so much. I am 45, was 44 when I read it, my son was 22. between the 2 of us we passed it among about 11 people between 19 and 50 years of age, from working blue collar men of different generation, to single moms, college students, and a couple of traditional fathers. republicans, democrats, and an anarchist. My son who turned me onto this book was in college studying mechanical engineering (he just graduated) and is a great kid, but he is as country redneck as a boy can be, and so i gotta say that a book that can keep him in a literary discussion for darn near a year with such a myriad group of people is one powerful book.

I love this book! I love that it plays with truth and lies until you are left with only a story. That is was makes this the best work of fiction I have ever read.
-
Deborah Johnson Ohlms I love that it explained "Story Truth" the way it did.
