By Stephen King, 2009
ISBN 1439148503
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact.

Ilya Rakitin liked and reviewed this via the iPhone2 weeksDefinitely my favorite read of 2009. This book had it all: converging plots like the movie "Crash," drama, action, suspense, and everything in between. The book may seem dauntingly long for some but I literally read it in a week or so just from casual reading; in other words, it was a fast read and hard to put down. I'd definitely recommend this to any and everyone (except young children of course). If you want a winding, interesting story, this is your book.
