Weak. Don't waste the significant amount of time it will take you to read this book. Some are saying that it is as good as classic Stephen King but it's not. Read The Stand or The Shining or some other classic King instead.

Fantastic characters, a classic King page turner. One of King's most well written villains in a long time.

Lots of unanswered questions.

This is a great read! It displays the breakdown of how people can begin to act if cut off from the real world. It is kind of a modern 'Lord of the Flies' but it is adults that turn savage.

Did the audiobook. It was fantastic. Not my favorite king book, but the reader made it awesome.

I read the book in less than 2 days it was hard to put down.

Long but well done.

Definitely my favorite read of 2009. This book had it all: converging plots like the movie "Crash," drama, action, suspense, and everything in between. The book may seem dauntingly long for some but I literally read it in a week or so just from casual reading; in other words, it was a fast read and hard to put down. I'd definitely recommend this to any and everyone (except young children of course). If you want a winding, interesting story, this is your book.

Just finished reading this.
Another great tome about the fight between good and evil in the hearts of regular people.
Couldn't help but notice the similarities to The Stand. The character detail and the large scale of the story brings the situation in Chester Mills to life.

The Master is back with a heart pounding ride. This book kicks you in the teeth in the opening and keeps on kicking until the last page is turned. Loved it!

Not bad, but the ending did not live up to the potential of the first 3/4 of the book.

Outstanding piece of work from Stephen King. Loved the depth of each character.

This book is great so far, it has kept me interested for now hope it continues to do so! Kind of reminds me of the cell, starts a little slow.

Stephen King at his best. This is by far the best novel since the stand. All intricacies ate backed up an verified. Real people in a real town acting luke we all probably would. If you've got the time give it a try. You won't be dissappointed. It's hard to start bit when you do, you hot the ground running.

I agree that it's not "The Stand", but I don't think that Stephen could ever write something as good as "The Stand". But as usual, his characters are interesting and realistic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's a standard Stephen King, so if you're as big of a fan as I am, you may enjoy this as well.

I still liked it but it just wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. Definitely not the next Stand. Far, far from it.
