Meeting Anne Rice in 10 days. Figured I'd re-read some favorites of hers before I do.

I wished they hadn't mashed together this book and The Queen Of The Damned to make the movie Queen Of The Damned. I did like the movie, just wished they made two separate ones.

The Vampire Lestat is given more of a background here, we meet who he was as a human, the circumstances behind his change and some of his point of view of events from the first book. Than we are given an equally engaging present day story, one that will have you aching to read the next novel Queen of the Damned

Great read if you don't mind when Rice delves into the history for a while...
