FINALLY(!!!!) found what seems to be the *only* copy in our entire county library system again! Read the jacket summary to the Boys & discussed where we were when we had to return it (chapter 14- I wrote it down on our bookmark. Son was all "I guess we'll have to start from the beginning again." & I was all "look, little dude, I got you!" lol)

it's been on my nightstand since Christmas, so I figured that it was about time to start.

I'm so glad Colin Meloy wrote this book.

If I had read books like this when I was little I'd have a much better vocabulary now.

Haven't gotten very far. It's so hard to concentrate these days but I'm gonna try.

Wow, a lot of excitement just happened in two chapters! Curtis has broken Alexandra's spell on him, found Mac, discovered Alexandra's dastardly plan, & been imprisoned. Meanwhile, Prue has thus far escaped the prying eyes of SWORD but Owl Rex has not... Was tempted to read further- we are excited to have started Part Two!!!

Enjoying this book so far. Still, I think Meloy shines more on shorter prose and poetry (lyrics). The prose in this book is still pretty good, though.

Curtis is becoming quite the soldier/son replacement for Alexandra. Prue seems no closer to finding Mac & returning home. The politics of their situations are beginning to sound awfully familiar...

Prue has spoken with the Governor Regent but I'm afraid it hasn't brought her any closer to finding Mac or Curtis. Curtis seems to be headed for battle with Alexandra & her coyote army...

Curtis (A Pacifist) is about to be shown the world by Alexandra, the Dowager Governess... Reminiscent of the Devil showing the kingdoms of the world to Jesus...

Our new bedtime book, we LOVE it, so far! Read part 1, chapter 1, A Murder of Crows. Youngest loves that the little brother calls his sister "Pooo" for "Prue" :)

Oh Colin, I love everything you do, so I will most certainly love your book as well

This book was really good, highly recommended.
