I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in International Studies. My focus was mainly Japanese anthropology. I've studied Japanese language off and on for about 3 years, excluding the time I have spent abroad (which is a learning experience as well). I just got back from living in Iwate prefecture, where I taught English. I have a huge interest in samurai stories. This probably spawned my love for Japan. I'm also a huge fan of the Beatles and I enjoy sketching, stationery, organizing the apartment, cooking, hiking, GTD and the taste of Dr. Pepper. I'm often told that I'm a great whistler. In my free time, I enjoy writing in my blog, reading mobile phone news, reading about social media, playing video games, designing characters for various stories, and playing harmonica. I also enjoy a good bike ride.
