This non-western pairing of James Stewart and Anthony Mann finds the former as a man with a dream and a checkered past. There is a love interest, a wily sidekick, an equally adventurous risk-taker to round out the diverse, dynamic cast, along with a town full of spiteful, drunk fishermen afraid of progress. Not the best from Stewart/Mann, but good, solid output.
