Spontaneously Beautiful would be the best way to describe this album. While it is not quite as emotionally powerful as "Plans" or "Transatlanticism", the themes they explore in this album are both unique and intriguing. The idea of setting up rhythmic grooves instead of melodic introductions is simply a stunning direction. This could have been very controversial, but Ben Gibbard makes up for the lack of "Death Cab-ness" with pure Gibbard lyrical genius and style. If you are looking for a different Death Cab this may be the album for you.
