It's my contention that everyone who values education is, to a point, an autodidact. Though they certainly haven't spent all their time teaching themselves, they understand that a teacher is more of a guide than a source of capital-T "Truth". Unfortunately, some autodidacts tend to spend their time simply reinforcing their own biases and prejudices, never broadening their horizons.
