Presently the second most infamous villain in the Doctor Who universe (Whoniverse). The Daleks, created by Davros, are angry amorphous being encased in metal and capable of flight, deathrays and sucking the life from anyone they encounter. Recently, a Dalek took some of Rose Tyler's essence and became more human, thus bringing the Daleks into a new era: more terrifying since they are capable of understanding fear!! Check out "Genesis Of the Daleks" for their origin to better understand them!

brownbagcomics BTW, my comment about them being second, I refer to the Doctor's greatest villain: The Master!

bill baxter Okay, yeah yeah the Master. But can he match the Daleks for witty repartee?

brownbagcomics Well, let's see..... Every time he showed up, he uses a different name as an anagram of The Master! Plus he was the king of witty repartee with every appearance during the 70's and 80's - not to mention John SImm's performance as him recently!. I fear the Daleks, but for imagination and evil, no one is more so than The Master!

bill baxter You're very on point about the repartee Master is clearly superior. For me, its the mocking facial expressions that really take him over the top. I still give the edge to the Daleks in timing and comic delivery though.

Relevant to the mythical season five -- On my scorecard I have the 9th doctor for 05-06, season 2 for 06-07, season 3 for 07-08 and season 4 for 08 - 09. Netflix has four seasons, and then what look like made for tv movies, especially one called 'The Waters of Mars' that they keep pushing. Deferring to your awesome expertise, what am I missing? Was there no Doctor for late 09? Did they do movies instead? Or is my count just wrong?

brownbagcomics The 09 season was parlayed into 4 specials that encompassed the end of the 10th Dr and gave us some really good moments. Water of Mars is very good, but my preferences were The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead then The End of Time (with the appearance of someone we have discussed!). Good stuff, but waiting for more than a year for a full season of the Doctor has been torturous! Plus it was a shortened year for Torchwood - DRAT YOU BBC!!!
