Athens is a great city to visit for the cultural history but beware, they eat the night meal after 10pm. And, stores close down usually from 1 or 2 pm to 5 or 6 pm then reopen for a couple of hours. It can be very confusing and difficult to find food when your American stomach gets hungry. We kept food in our room to take care of the problem. I found that it is a male oriented culture. I loved all the museums, archeological digs and sites, and the ceremonies and parades.
