I watched it after all, streaming on Amazon since Netflix failed me at instant gratification. I do believe GiGi is the most beautiful musical ever due to both the setting in Paris during La Belle Epoque and the story's ultimate message about keeping your dignity in a disappointingly sordid world. It truly is a shame that all people can't be kind solely for the sake of being kind, or that if someone actually is kind just for the sake of being kind that can cause other people to assume the worst. Despite all that, however, I still believe people are inherently good. I hang onto my own childlike playfulness even as the world tries to tear it away from me.
