Sam Raimi gets back to his splatstick roots ('Evil Dead 2') for this hilarious, horrifying movie that had me bouncing between shrieks and giggles. There's little in the way of gore here (check out that PG-13 rating), but Raimi injects enough gross-out moments to please any eight-year-old boy. Seriously, do not eat before watching this.

Best horror movie of 2009. Take that, 'Paranormal Activity.'

Kimber So glad you liked it! I really need to suck it up and buy this one; it's the type of movie I can watch over and over again.

Have you seen Sam Raimi's earlier stuff in the Evil Dead trilogy? It's a lot like this (though gorier since they're all rated R, though Army of Darkness inexplicably so).

James Oh yes, I've seen all the early ones. Thanks to Netflix I finally saw the first Evil Dead, and the tree rape scene wasn't as scary or gross as the hype made it to be. This one, as soon as the envelope showed up, I knew the ending.

Kimber You are far smarter than I am then. :) I usually try not to figure things out, if only for my own enjoyment. I like being surprised.

How about Dead Alive? It's far gorier than all these. :)

Kimber It's early Peter Jackson, and it's really, really funny if you have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old boy. And a really strong stomach. I'd tease some of it, but I don't want to spoil the fun.

Melissa Taya-Lovey Galyen I don't know who in their right mind would watch this piece of junk over and over again. Man you got to find some new movies to watch. You know Toy Story 3 just came out why not give that one a shot.

James Melissa, the dislike button and your review is all I need to hear concerning how you feel about a topic here on GetGlue. Personal attacks about my or any other person's tastes is rather rude.

Melissa Taya-Lovey Galyen Jesus Christ calm the fuck down its only a movie, no need to get all rude with people. This reply was MONTHS ago and your just replying now. And btw Toy Story 3 is WAY better than Drag Me To Hell. Let's see it won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, what did DMTH win...NOTHING! So why don't you go suck it.

Tracey Storch Opinions are like @$$holes - everyone has them. This is a "love it or hate it" kind of film. It's created for a specific audience. I personally love it, but just because I do, I don't expect everyone else to. Ppl need to relax and not take stuff like this so seriously. If you hated it, fine. That doesn't mean I have worse taste in films than you; just different. I think Twilight, Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber suck, but I won't condemn those who enjoy that kind of stuff. K? K. Now play nice!
