      The Politician: An Insider's...
      Overlay
As one who finds political scandal irresistible (and ironic: I mean, why would anyone expect politicians to be perfect since NOBODY IS), I'm reading about John Edwards downfall. I'm also learn a lot about Presidential politics that I didn't know (as in, the process of becoming President). Here's what got me this morning: "Money is so important that even if you are the most brilliant candidate, political commentators will relegate you to second-class if you are not among the top three in fund-raising. Below this level, you simply cannot compete in a national campaign." Why is this? I've always believed that ANY American can be President if they so desire and I still do. I think the person who figures out how to break this tradition is the person who will TRULY change this country for the better.

J.Trekell Oh, how I wish someone would change this world. Are you hopeful for any of the current candidates? I find myself further saddened with every debate.

Maryjo Bramble Not hopeful about any of the candidates but am hopeful in general. Because in the long run, the candidates don't matter. WE DO. And what the candidates do doesn't matter. What WE DO matters. We all have the ability to change things but we're currently too absorbed in keeping all of our stuff. And I don't think this was ever our agenda as much as it was someone else's. Whose I don't know. But someone or something led to this. Are we gonna snap out of it? I know not. But I AM hopeful.
