        Stuyvesant Parker Everyone else just gets characters wrong. Everyone on Cheers is sort of a horridly flawed loser in some way, but that is what makes them likeable and human. Modern sitcoms are too cheeky, they spend their time telling you jokes instead of building fictional lives that are jokes.

        Sarah Strapkovic Exactly.. Today's sitcoms is just one smart Alec remark after the next. There is no build up to the joke and no character depth. You never find someone you relate you. There has been very few sitcoms that draw you in immediately and stand the test of time.
