I do have to rejoice of seeing Simone de Beauvoir here - the heroine of my youth and of my generation. Women of new generations may ignore how much they owe to her. And her philosophy is not a subsidiary of Sartre's philosophy. She could think by herself, thank you and she had a 'joie de vivre' that can be detected in her diaries. She was free and bold and sometimes even a little cruel but I imagine that if she do not live to the fullest, it is because she had to conquer her place in a sexist group, existentialists or not.
