I enjoyed this book very much, but I don't think it's the best place to start with Diana Wynne Jones. It was my first, way back when, and it really threw me off. I think it's best read after you've experienced a few of her other novels. And please, remember that it's Cat's story, not Gwendolen's. My full review: xicanti.livejournal.com/242702.html
