What is GetGlue?
GetGlue is a service that helps you find your next favorite movie, book, music album or other every day thing. GetGlue shows you things that you'll like based on your personal tastes, what your friends like, and what's most popular on GetGlue.What does it mean to follow someone on GetGlue?
Following a user is a great way to discover new items that people like. If you follow someone's GetGlue activity then the items that they like will appear on your personal homepage located at GetGlue.com.How do I follow friends and other people?
On the Find Friends page you'll be able to follow your Twitter and Facebook friends who are already on GetGlue and search for people by name or email address. You can also invite friends to join GetGlue by visiting the Find Friends page. If you come across someone on GetGlue who interests you, you can subscribe to their GetGlue activity. You can follow people on profile pages by clicking the Follow button by their picture.
If you would like to remove someone who is following you, visit their profile on GetGlue.com and click the Block button in the bottom of the sidebar.
What are stickers? How do I unlock them?
As you do certain things on GetGlue you will be rewarded with a variety of stickers for your efforts or achievements. They're a cool way for you to display to other Glue-ers what kinds of entertainment you like. Some stickers are unlocked once and stay on your profile forever, others are unlocked for a specific period of time. While it is clear how you can unlock some stickers, others are a bit mysterious and require you to figure out how to unlock them on your own.
Some stickers can only be unlocked by checking-in on a specific day during a specific time - these stickers are limited and exclusive and will not be available outside of this window.
Stickers can be unlocked via the website and the mobile apps.
What is 'Mail me my stickers'?
Stickers can be redeemed on your stickers page, which can be reached from the Stickers link from your Profile. For every 20 stickers you unlock, in combination with a 30 day time span since your previous order, you are eligible to request physical copies. A "Mail me my stickers" banner is at the top of that page and provides information on when you can submit a request. When you become eligible a link to "Request your stickers now" will appear. Clicking that link will open the request form.
We send about 20 stickers at a time, the amount that a lil' old stamp can carry. We also send what's currently in stock. You should have your stickers in 4 - 6 weeks. Keep an eye on the "Mail me my stickers" banner to know when you can request your next batch!
What other rewards can I get?
Some stickers that you get on the service may have associated rewards provided by our partners. The reward may be a coupon, a free item, an opportunity to win a free item via a drawing, etc. If you are eligible for the reward you will be notified via an application screen or email. You may need to provide your mailing address in order to claim some rewards. This information may be shared with a partner in order to fulfill your prize. It is entirely up to you to claim and/or use the reward if you end up winning.

What is a check-in?
A check-in is a way for you to tell your friends and the GetGlue community about the type of entertainment you're checking out. Watching a movie, reading a book, playing a video game, or tuning into your favorite TV show--checking-in is a great way to share what you're doing with your friends, and maybe make some new ones.
What can I check-in to?
You can check-in to anything in the GetGlue database. You can check-in via the GetGlue.com website or via the iPhone, iPad, or Android apps. Blackberries and other web-enabled phones can use the mobile site to check-in.

What is a Guru?
GetGlue identifies users that are especially passionate about specific books, movies, music and more by awarding them the title of Guru. The Guru title is awarded to the individual who has the richest level of interaction for the given item, based on a point system that is described below.
Each item can only have one Guru, so you’ll need to work for the honor, and be vigilant: other eager users can steal the title from you at any time!
How do I become a Guru?
The Guru is identified by a point system that rewards valuable comments and replies.
Once you like and comment on an item you are eligible to be the Guru. Points are then awarded when other members of the GetGlue community find your comments and replies useful or funny.
The individual with the most points for the item is its Guru.

What are Guru Special Powers?
In addition to the honor of being recognized as the Guru of a given item, as the Guru you will also have special powers on GetGlue.com. Guru Special Powers include:
- Recommend additional items: know a book, movie or show that people will love if they like the item you’re the Guru of? Leave your mark by making permanent recommendations.
What about privacy?
We have a comprehensive and user-centric privacy policy. There are two broad privacy settings on GetGlue. One option makes your profile visible only to individuals who you specifically approve. The other option allows you to opt-in to share all of your book, music, movie, etc. visits. You can find these options in settings.What if I visit a movie, book, album, etc. that I previously shared?
You have full control to always delete a connection between you and an individual book, movie, album, etc. From your profile, mouse over the thumbnail and click on the trashcan icon. From an object page, mouse over your avatar and click the trashcan icon. Deleting an item will permanently remove your connection to it on GetGlue.How do I put the recent check-ins widget and recent stickers widget on my tumblog?
- Visit Settings --> Widgets (you can also click here: getglue.com/settings/widgets)
- Choose "Grab Code" for the widget you want on your tumblog.
- Copy the code that appears.
- Visit tumblr.com and make sure you are logged-in.
- Choose "customize appearance" in the top right of your tumblr dashboard.
- In the customization panel that appears on the left click "Edit HTML".
- Paste the code that you copied for your widget where you want it to appear on your web page.
- Click "save", and you are done!
How do I put the recent check-ins widget and recent stickers widget on my wordpress blog?
- Visit Settings --> Widgets (you can also click here: getglue.com/settings/widgets)
- Choose "Grab Code" for the widget you want on your blog.
- Copy the code that appears.
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Click on 'Appearance' on the left, and then click on 'Widgets' to edit your blog's widgets.
- Create a new 'Text' widget.
- Paste the code that you copied from GetGlue into your new widget.
- Click "save", and you are done!
