I don't know a lot of their work, but Fly Robin Fly is one of the most amazing disco tracks I've ever heard. Just beautiful, and showed that the genre had weight to it.

Oh cool, another site to say how rubbish this film probably is, if I were ever to bother watching it.

I remember stumbling across a rerelease CD about 15 years ago and discovering how great this band were. Since then I've been digging in the crates of old record shops trying to find it on vinyl and a few weeks back - GET IN! Saw Root compère a great Brit Soul/Funk night at the Barbican a few years back too - Cymande, AWB, Linda Lewis. Awesome line up. And the girl that took me? Reader, I married her.

Such a shame his career burned out so soon after going solo, but gosh what a tune to leave as a legacy! Still play this out more often than not.

Yeah, we need guys like this to keep coming on. Definitely brought his own flavour to dancehall and you just KNOW it's Vybz as soon as the lyric starts.

Massive dancehall tune which still shakes the floor almost every time. BOOM.

Paid in Full might just be the best hip hop single of all time. Love the Coldcut remix, but lyrics like "aint nothing but sweat inside my hand" - rah!
