Hi I am Melissa Bee, passionate painter in beautiful Denver, Colorado. I have been obsessively drawing and painting since I was 2 years old. I was one of those kids who would sit in the back of the class and just draw draw draw. I am following my dream of being an artist and sharing my visions with others. As you can see I do not have the patience to paint "in the lines", my work is a bit messy, as I have an eccentric and passionate fire within me. That sometimes scares people, but it's who I am. I'm able to release that into my paintings which as a result make them rich in colour, palpable in texture, and tactile to the viewer. I'm one of those people who immediately looks for the beauty in just about everything and everyone and use that to bring out the essence in my subject matter. I communicate what I see by experimenting with the intrinsic properties of the paint, sometimes allowing the paint to have the most control.
