Steff Wiltse City Lights, Provincetown Theatre Cape Cod, 1972: A swell of music and the house lights came up all at once. I squinted in the brightness, at first only smiles floating up the aisle. A happier tide was going out than had flowed in, content now to slowly rub elbows as they went; not noticing the people still seated, some just listening to the epilogue, others just sitting. One man by the near wall stared glassily up at the empty screen having never bothered to wipe the glitter of tears away.
