Born 12.02.1983 in Boston, MA , lived in the USA until she was 5, when she moved to Portugal. She attended St. Julian's School in Portugal, where she grew up.

Her first acting role came at the age of 16, when she auditioned for a television series "Jardins Proibidos", and cast for the role of Sara. She kept working on diverse projects, as well as finishing high school. At the age of 18 moved to London, England to do a B.A. in Performing Arts at the London Metropolitan University.

Having finished with a first class Honors, Daniela returned to Portugal to pursue more work. She was given principal roles in television series, short films, theatre and in 2007 moved to New York to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and pursue her career.Daniela Ruah appeared in several television shows in Portugal including the equivalent of the U.S. version of "Dancing with the Stars," which she won. In the US she first appeared in NCIS that lead to a recurring role in NCIS LA.

Recently, she finished filming the feature film "Red Tails" in Prague. In her spare time, Ruah helps raise money for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and for Project Have Hope, a charity which helps women in Uganda improve their lives and the lives of their families by ensuring their children receive a quality education. Trade Mark: Has a distinguishable birthmark in her right eye; her other eye is hazel.
