JUST ANOTHER QUICK THOUGHT ABOUT KATHY. I WAS BORN AND RAISED HERE IN DALLAS, TEXAS, AND PROUD TO SAY KATHY WENT TO SMU, SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY. FOUND OUT THAT THE SHOW HARRY'S LAW WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN CAST AS A GRUFF OLD LAWYER, BUT THE CASTING DIRCTOR FELT THAT HAD BEEN DONE AND REDONE BEFORE. THEY WANTED A NEW FRESH IDEA, A STRONG, TOUGH WOMAN. THEY WANTED AND SIGNED KATHY BATES. I FEEL THE SHOW WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN DUMPED IF THEY HAD GONE WITH THE ORIGINAL ("YAWN") STALE IDEA. SHE SAVED THE SHOW BY PLAYING IT THE ONLY WAY SHE KNOWS HOW. WITH GUSTO AND NOT JUST ACTING A ROLE, BUT BY BECOMING SO MUCH LIKE THE CHARACTER SHE IS PARTRAING, THAT THE SCRIPT COMES TO LIFE AND DRAW YOU IN TO MAKE THE VIEWER FEEL THEY ARE THE FLY ON THE WALL WATCHING SOMETHING REALLY HAPPENING. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL A REAL ACTOR AND THERE ARE FEW PEOPLE THAT I CAN SAY THAT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THE FLY QUITE LIKE MISS BATES. LOVE YA, KB. AND.....GO MUSTANGS! :)
